Allegany College of Maryland Cancels and Postpones Upcoming Events

ALLEGANY COLLEGE OF MARYLAND CANCELS AND POSTPONES UPCOMING EVENTS

CUMBERLAND, Md. (Mar. 16, 2020) – Following the latest COVID-19 guidance for large events and mass gatherings offered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Allegany College of Maryland has canceled a variety of college, foundation and community events for the next several weeks.

The Cumberland campus has canceled the following events: the Unity Center March Madness Recruitment Events for Students scheduled for March 19; two sessions of Domestic Violence 101 led by the Family Crisis Resource Center scheduled for March 25; the Spring Transfer Fair scheduled for March 26; the Student Trip to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum and the National Museum of African American History and Culture scheduled for March 31; and “Waking Up White: Finding Myself in the Story of Race” book discussion also scheduled for March 31. The Center for Continuing Education and Workforce Development has canceled its U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum trip (C/S540 course) scheduled for March 23, and its SpringFest Artisan and Crafter Fair scheduled for April 24 and 25.

The Tri-State Mathematics Scholarship Contest held in conjunction with the LaVale Lions Club and regional school systems has been canceled. The ACM Foundation in Cumberland will postpone its donor appreciation event.

Allegany College of Maryland Bedford County Campus has canceled Transfer Advising Days scheduled for March 23 and 30. The Bedford County Regional Education Foundation, the fundraising arm of the ACM Bedford County Campus, will postpone its fundraiser scheduled for March 28.
