COLLEGE AWARENESS SESSIONS OFFERED:

Tailored for Younger High School Students and their Families

CUMBERLAND, Md. (Feb. 7, 2022) – Where do I start? Can I take college classes while I’m in high school? How do we afford for me to go to college? If you are a parent or guardian of a ninth or tenth-grader, you may be fielding similar questions and feeling lost or overwhelmed.

It's never too early to plan for college.

To demystify the college selection process and help regional families plan ahead, Allegany College of Maryland recruitment staff will host virtual College Awareness sessions for freshmen and sophomores at 6 p.m. on February 22 and 23. The one-hour sessions offer students and their parents or guardians the chance to learn, ask questions and connect to resources.

Topics for discussion include:

  • career coach
  • job shadowing
  • college majors
  • applying to college
  • early college classes
  • tuition costs
  • paying for college and
  • college visit options.

Registration is available by visiting www.allegany.edu/college-awareness. Parents with questions about the sessions may contact Lauren Winterberg at 301-784-5124.

College recruiters, Sean Aurigemma and Courtney Jensen, can be reached via text at 301-321-7245 and 240-716-6277.
