Winning Home Brewer Receives their Own Locust Post Brewing Run, College Scholarship
CUMBERLAND, Md. (May 20, 2024) – Home brewers are running out of time to register for Allegany College of Maryland’s (ACM) first home brewing competition. Applicants have until May 31 to register by visiting https://tinyurl.com/wfrv8tce. Only 10 home brewers will be chosen, and all brewers must be 21 or older.
The competition is part of the Western Maryland Craft Beverage Festival, which runs from 12-6 p.m. on Sunday, September 1, at Hoffman Park. Hoffman Park is at 11200 Hoffman Hollow Road in Frostburg.
Competitors should bring a two-gallon sample of their beer to the competition. All sample beers must be brewed in your own home using your brewing supplies and proper sanitation practices. Six judges will ‘blind taste’ all 10 home brews.
The top three home brewers receive multiple prizes in addition to bragging rights.
