In this certificate program, you will acquire skills that allow you to assist the
practitioner from start to finish in different medical settings.
You will learn the workflow in medical offices, hospitals, and emergency rooms, how
to use the electronic health record to document the patient visit, and the fundamentals
of the medical decision making process.
You will learn medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, legal guidelines,
principles of billing, coding and reimbursement, and quality improvement outcomes
in healthcare. To enhance your learning, you will have an 80-hour practicum experience
that will enable you to apply your classroom learning in a health care setting
Graduates of this program will be eligible to take the certified medical scribe credentialing
exam through the American College of Medical Scribe Specialists.
