The Allegany College of Maryland Board of Trustees has announced that the search is underway to identify the next President of Allegany College of Maryland.

Applications and nominations for the position of President of Allegany College of Maryland are currently being accepted until the position is filled.

The target date for applications is: August 27, 2024

President Search Timeline:

 

Date Event
Late May 2024 Position is open and advertised. Presidential Profile is posted at allegany.edu and acctsearches.org. Targeted one-to-one recruitment commences; advertising placed.
August 27, 2024 Target Date for Receipt of Applications.
September 2024 Search Committee Meeting: discussion and selection of confidential semifinalist candidates.
Early October 2024 Search Committee Meeting: confidential interviews with semifinalists. The Committee deliberates and selects finalists to forward to the Board of Trustees for further consideration.
Late October 2024 Finalists interview with the Board of Trustees, tour campus, participate in open public forums, meet with direct reports.
November 2024 Next President of Allegany College of Maryland is announced.
January 2, 2025 Approximate start date of new President or as agreed upon by the President-elect and the Board of Trustees.

  • A letter of application (not to exceed 5 pages) that succinctly addresses the opportunities and challenges identified in the Position Profile and demonstrates how the candidate’s experience and professional qualifications prepare them to serve as the President of Allegany College of Maryland.

  • A list of eight references: example, two to three supervisors, two to three direct reports, and two to three faculty and/or staff members from current and former institutions.
